Merry Christmas from Team TOMS...

...and Happy New Years, Happy Hanukkah and a very Merry Kwanzaa!

This Christmas was filled with lots of presents, dogs and that family time I miss so dearly when the holiday season is over. For my family, Christmas is one of the only times we are all able to see each other and I never take this time for granted.

The stockings were hung, the foot of the tree was filled, and so were our bellies. The big surprise this Christmas is that I am going to be an UNCLE! The last gift I opened was from my sister, it was a baby bib that read: "My Uncle Loves Me." After I finished crying, yes crying, we all hugged and celebrated the future new addition to our family tradition. I am so excited for my sister Amy and her amazing husband, CJ.

Albeit the Garmin computer I recieved was a GREAT gift (thanks Santa), finding out there will be a little one at Christmas next year was even better!

I think it's a boy, and if so, Champion-Systems makes a WAY COOL Mini Jersey and my nephew (or neice) will certainly be rocking it in only a way a baby from my family can! :)

We'll probably have to get the baby sumadeez too!

To all of my teammates, I wish you safe riding when you're out burning off the fruitcakes, cookies, cake and the gallons of egg nog you consumed. To our sponsors, supporters and everyone involved with Team TOMS Shoes, I wish you and yours the best and happiest of holidays!

PS-If you've forgotten someone on your Christmas list, it's never too late to give the gift of sharing. TOMS Shoes donated over 37,000 shoes in Ethiopia this holiday season. Do your part and visit the TOMS website for great gift ideas: http://media.tomsshoes.com/giftideas

Remember: Drop TOMS, Not Bombs! :)

Maiden Voyage!

Officially, this blog entry marks the first of the Team TOMS Shoes/SpecializedRiders.com blog! As well as my first blog entry, personally. Please be patient as I learn all of the in's and out's of becoming a blog ninja!

I'd like to begin by thanking a few people. To Blake Mykosie, Peyton Wallace and Meaghan Delmonico at TOMS Shoes. Thank you for doing what you do and making this world a better place, one pair of shoes at a time! Also, many thanks for your support of grassroots cycling and our little team. I, on behalf of the rest of the team, promise to do you proud, to try our best and have a lot of fun in the process!

To Ian Dewar, the King, the Shepard, the Man amongst Boys and director of the Specialized Riders Club. Your ideas, your guidance, stoke and support are priceless! We're going to rule SSCXWC09!

To all of the great people at Nuun Active Hydration, I love your little tablets! Thank you for keeping my cramps at bay. Thanks for Kona Kola! And more than anything, thanks for having a great product and supporting Team TOMS!

A huge thank you goes to Sal Scotto at Champion Systems. Sal, your patience and all of your hard work are more than what I expected when dealing with a custom cycle wear provider. I know I've been saying it for, what, six months now? But the order is on it's way! Really.

I'd also like to throw a thank you to Matt Googe for being one of the coolest guys on the planet, Team TOMS Shoes is proud to have you on board. And Justin Goulais, a newcomer from the Big Apple, your stoke and willingness to help is just the kind of attitude we like here at Team TOMS...welcome to the family!

I'd also like to throw a quick shoutout to Dave Z. Your Nut Butter is the cream of the gods.

To Jay-Z, yes 40 is the new 30. Keep those diamonds in the sky!

To Tom Danielson, thanks for being my Facebook Friend. You'll get your yellow jersey someday, I swear.

Okay, enough of the funny business. In all sincerity, many thanks and well wishes to everyone who supports our team and our message. One for One!

Ride safe out there kids.

-Adam, out!
